Sweetgrass is considered sacred by many north american peoples. It's said the smoke of burning sweetgrass purifies and cleans artifacts, places, and people. Sometimes contained in packets of medication and sometimes filled with dance clothes to keep them healthy. Sweetgrass can be burned up as a sage-like purifier. It feels lighter than a sage and is often burnt with sage after use. Positive vibrations are encouraged to enter an area or room. Sweetgrass is also used in sweat lodges where, during the sweat, clippings are deposited on the hot rocks.
